About the Program

Students who intend to pursue a Bachelor's degree or those who have an interest in music will benefit from taking courses in music theory, history, and applied music, which will provide a strong foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of music. RVC offers a Jazz Ensemble, Chorus, Gospel Choir, Community Band, Community Orchestra, and Community Master Chorale.

While many students go on to pursue careers in music, many transfer to four-year colleges and universities to continue their music studies.

Pathways in Music

Music classes for all ages are available through Continuing & Community Education. Search online at RockValleyCollege.edu/CCE. In addition, there are several music ensembles that are open to community members as well as RVC students.

RVC offers courses and ensembles in music. Students interested in this field, should pursue an Associate of Arts to transfer to a four-year college or university. Please meet with an Academic Advisor to develop a clear pathway leading to a seamless transfer experience.
